Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his televised remarks.
What Happened
He was omitted from a European match following making accusations and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the interview fallout. He feels the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
